Lefkas is a typical Ionian
island, which combines the green landscape with the magnificent, clean
beaches. It is the only island which is joined with the mainland of
Greece by a floating bridge of constant flow. The modern touristic
structures, the delicious cuisine, the beautiful villages and the
genuine, warm hospitality of the inhabitants, are some of the reasons
that rank Lefkas among the first choices of tourists from all over
the world.
The picturesque village of Agios Nikitas, the only seaside village in all the west part of the island, is situated 12 km south-west of the town of Lefkas, at the cove of the homonymous gulf. It is a traditional village, harmoniously incorporated at the natural environment, which maintains and shows off the marvelous characteristics of the popular architecture. Apart from the homonymous beach, only a few kilometres away from
the village, you can find some of the most beautiful beaches of
the Ionian Sea, such as Pefkoulia, Milos and Kathisma. |
